Every Tuesday Night 6pm @ Danielson Adventure Sports - medium pace- 2hrs

 

 

 

Friday MTB Rides-  5pm  @ Goodwin St. Park (Potter Rd., Hampton, CT)

(**Note** Ride is discontinued for the season.)

 

Two hours, but, as sunlight lingers, rides will get longer.

Medium pace, some tough terrain, lots of fun!

Dam MTB Ride- Friday nights through winter- Come ride the Thompson Dam at 6:30 on Friday nights.  Charge your light and get ready to ride a medium pace mtb ride through fairly friendly trails that have a few technical spots.  We usually ride for about 2 hours depending on the crew.  We start at the parking lot on Ravenelle Road close to where it intersects with West Thompson Dam Road.  Hope you can make it!

 Saturdays-  Ride the "Singlespeed Cafe"  This is a casual winter ride that starts and ends at Simon's Bike and Brew on Railroad Street in Plainfield.  The ride is approx. 19miles and regroups several times.  You do not have to have a singlespeed to do this ride.  Rides are weather permitting. Ride time is 10am.   Post-ride coffee.

     Sunday Rides-  Meet @ Stop & Shop on Rt 44 in Putnam (exit 97 off 395)      Ride start time is back to 9am for the fall.  Rise and shine!  Rides are medium pace(15-18mph average.)   

 

At this point in the season, the regular Sunday crew is planning to meet and decide on a route each Sunday morning.  The rides are getting shorter at this time of year- typically less than 60 miles.  Planned routes with maps will resume in the spring.  See you on Sunday! 

 

   Mondays -Ride the Gruppetto  (click for FAQ) 

 

 

 

The Gruppetto (beginners welcomed!) is a 17 mile, flattish, no-drop, moderate speed ride. (This year with "opt out" loops of 8 and 10 miles, as well as an extension for 20 miles.) Paired with the Thursday Night Casual Ride (see below) the two together afford a good, basic intro to cycling in New England. The first ride of each month includes a post ride dinner at a local restaurant. The Gruppetto leaves  at 5:30pm(Ride has concluded for the season- See you in the spring.)  from Danielson Adventure Sports.    Tuesday Night Time Trial:  Next TT scheduled September 6th. (The TT has concluded for the season- See you in the spring.)  TT sign in at 6:15pm, first rider off at 6:30 sharp.  Helmets mandatory and waiver signed by all.  Location: Rt. 44, 1.1 miles east of the Route 21/Route 44 intersection at the small turn about.  Please do not block any driveways.  Course:  10 Miles. The turnaround is just past the George Washingtion Park.

 

 

   Tuesday Nights- "Chip's Plainfield Pain District" (PPD) Ride

This ride has concluded for the season- See you in the spring.

The PPD is a 1.5 hour road ride in the hills of Plainfield and Sterling, CT, including climbing intervals and some paceline drills between climbs.  Though this ride is designed for faster riders and road racers, the ride regroups at the top of each climb, no one gets dropped or forgotten, and the group ultimately determines the pace.  Route to vary every 4 weeks or so, but will feature 3-4 climbs each week.  Rain cancels

    Wednesday Night Ride-  Ride rolls out at 5:30pm sharp @ The Fitness Factory in Dayville.  Fast-paced interval type ride.  Ride regroups 3 times over 30 miles.  Early group leaves at 5:45.  (*Please note- this is not a QVVelo ride-While many of us participate in this ride, it has been a community ride for the past 15+ years.)

Due to the fact that bridges are out on the regular Wednesday night loop, riders are using the route below as an alternate.  This route includes  a decent climb toward the end of the ride and is about 32 miles in length.  The regular route does require you to lift your bike over two barricades at this time.

     Wednesday Night Cyclo Cross-  5:00 at Owen Bell Park.   Check out Danielson Adventure Sports at www.bikect.com for details.  The course opens on September 7th (with a clinic at 5pm.)  and will be available through November.

 

   Thursday Night Casual Ride-    Meet @ 5:30pm- Ride has concluded for the season- See you in the spring.  @ Danielson Adventure Sports.  12 mile loop with 17 mile loop available.  Casual pace.  Beginners welcomed.   Decision to cancel due to weather will be made by 4pm.  Call Donnie @ DAS @ (860) 774-6010.
